EC SETS UP EASME

European CommissionThe Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) has been set up by the European Commission to manage on its behalf  several EU programmes. The new agency replaces the EACI (Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation) that managed the Enterprise Europe Network, Intelligent Energy – Europe, Eco-innovation and Marco Polo.

EASME’s mission covers the management of COSME, including the Enterprise Europe Network, Your Europe Business and the European IPR Helpdesk. Moreover, it will also be in charge of the SME instrument, several parts of the energy and climate societal challenges and industrial leadership challenge within Horizon 2020, the Programme for Environment and Climate ation (LIFE) and, later in 2014, also of parts of the European Maritime Fisheries Fund and the follow-on initiatives to Intelligent Energy – Europe and Eco-innovation.
